Volunteers needed for Skerries St Patricks Day Parade

Following the resounding success of last year’s St Patrick’s Day parade, and the huge effort by all you willing volunteers who came to marshal, Susan Plunkett has been asked by Skerries Chamber of Commerce to co-ordinate the list of marshals for this year’s event.

The whole town from clubs to individuals took part last year and it was great to see that community spirit, it was a fabulous day made by the weather, but the atmosphere in the town was amazing and the kids in our section had a great day. The marshals and the marshalling of the event are crucial to the safe running of it and to the then enjoyment of it for everyone, so if we don’t get sufficient marshals once more it may be in doubt.

So why not get in touch and come along and lets have a blast like we did last year, and lets make the St Patrick’s Day parade bigger and better and more colourful than last year.

I am currently chatting to the chamber and we are in the process of putting together some prizes for a special raffle for all the volunteers who put their names forward, so go on you know you want to, come along and help in whatever way you can, don\'t be shy !!

It is best to get in touch by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by telephone after 7pm at 087 2407720 (Susan). Let me know how many bodies you can get hold of and I will let you know about the arrangements for a meeting to be held before hand to organise each section of the street.

Yours sincerely
Susan Plunkett
