Arlene Monteith joined the team as Community Engagement Officer in 2023.
Arlene is passionate about community engagement and project development, with a keen interest in integration and inclusion. Arlene spent several years working in the UK as a Learning and Outreach Officer with the Museum of East Dorset, running a volunteer-led education programme. In more recent years she was a Community Engagement Manager with the National Lottery Heritage Fund in the London and South Area. This work was extremely enjoyable and afforded the opportunity to support community groups to shape their project ideas with support through the grant application process.
Arlene graduated in 2002 from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology with an Honours Degree in Humanities in Heritage Studies.
Jordan joined the Mayo Volunteer Centre in August 2026 as the Community Volunteer Coordinator.
The Community Volunteer Programme supports once-off events such as annual festivals, sporting events, arts and culture events, and also helps arrange urgent supports. Jordan collaborates with local organisations to support them with volunteering roles for events outlined above. They also works closely with volunteers, engaging them in volunteer training and manual handling, briefings, and preparing volunteers, as much as possible, for their events.
Small actions. Shared purpose. Lasting impact.
