Down Syndrome Ireland, Sligo Branch, require an Online Moderator for Zoom calls. This role is currently home-based.
This role is currently home-based. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, all branch activities have now gone online where they are providing opportunities for members to socialise and participate in various activities. The Sligo Branch run an adult group and a group for teenagers and they are always led in their activities by a trainer/facilitator.In addition to the trainer, each group needs a ‘moderator’ to ensure that the group runs smoothly and also to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all the participants.The role of the volunteer moderator would be to:
Manage the ‘Zoom Room’ and ensure that all participants can gain access to the activity e.g. yoga
Be a point of contact for support persons/parents during the activity in the event of an issue arising.
Providing a relaxed environment for vulnerable people and ensure that everyone is safe in the online environment.
The Sligo Branch would love to hear from anyone who would be interested in joining a vibrant, dynamic and welcoming branch. All volunteers are valued and will receive induction, training and ongoing support for this role.
