Governance

Mayo Volunteer Centre is a member of the national body for volunteering, Volunteer Ireland. There are 22 Volunteer Centres and 7 Volunteering Information Services across Ireland. We are all affiliated to Volunteer Ireland but are independent legal entities.

Mayo Volunteer Centre itself operates as a distinct project within Moy Valley Resources IRD  which facilitates and supports the management of the Centre.

A volunteer Steering Committee of representatives from the local community representing key stakeholders oversees the strategic direction of the organisation and provides advice and guidance to the Manager.

Funding

Mayo Volunteer Centre is principally funded by the Irish Government, Department of Rural and Community Development and modest sources of income are generated through training, consultancy and Garda vetting services
