Mayo Volunteer Centre is the one stop shop for volunteering, providing services for organisations and individuals in County Mayo.
For Volunteers
Everyone can volunteer. What is important is finding a volunteering role that suits an individual’s skills, abilities and availability. Mayo Volunteer Centre can help volunteers find a suitable volunteer opportunity. The staff at Mayo Volunteer Centre can help you search and apply for a range of different volunteer opportunities with various organisations in Mayo.
There are two ways to search for a suitable role on this website:-
- You can use the iVOL (make this a link to list of opps) database to search for a volunteer roles by applying filters such as your location, a cause you are interested in contributing to or an activity you want to do.
- Mayo Opportunities (make this a link to list of opps) will show you different categories where you can find a list of particular roles that might suit your schedule, circumstances or location.
Before you can apply for a role you need to register for our service. As a registered volunteer we provide you with information on a wide range of volunteer opportunities and events, together with advice and support on volunteering in general. Register now.

For Organisations
We support community and voluntary organisations in implementing best practive in volunteer management. We can help organisations recruit volunteers, develop policies and procedures, garda vetting, volunteer management training and much more.
We offer a range of support services to help you involve volunteers in a meaningful and effective way in your organisation. This includes advice and one-to-one consultation, training and workshops, and a range of resource material on all matters volunteer-related. All of our services are free of charge, with the exception of our Volunteer Management Training and Garda Vetting which carries a nominal fee.
Outreach
We undertake a variety of outreach activities to promote volunteering in the different towns and villages in County Mayo. We provide talks, clinics, presentations, events, volunteer expo, training, dissemination of volunteer literature, online marketing and promoting volunteering.
Events and Training
We are available to deliver a limited number of Volunteering Information Talks in addition to our ongoing outreach activities.

Social Inclusion
Volunteering can play a significant role in creating inclusive communities where people of all walks of life are treated with the utmost respect and dignity. We support and encourage the vulnerable within society.
We believe that everyone has skills and abilities and something to offer as a volunteer, regardless of their background and abilities. It gives people the opportunity to network and develop new skills.
