Kathy Rowland – Manager
Kathy joined the company in 2018 and manages the delivery of the service, the staff of the centre and the future development of Mayo Volunteer Centre. Kathy has over 12 years’ experience working in community and rural development. Prior to taking up her role as manager of Mayo Volunteer Centre, she worked as CSP Manager in Geesala, and as a Development Officer with Sligo LEADER Partnership Company. She holds a degree in Business and an MSc in Sustainable Rural Development from Queen’s University, Belfast. She is also very active in her local community where she organises education courses and community events.
Edel Gallagher – Placement Officer (Ballina)
Edel has worked with Mayo Volunteer Centre since 2008.
With over 10 years working in a placement officer role, Edel has seen first-hand the wonderful volunteering spirit of the people in County Mayo. She has successfully coordinated a number of events and projects with community groups and organisations.
Edel is a true advocate for volunteering. When she’s not at work she is usually taking part in fundraising cycling activities.
Frances Lynott – Placement Officer (Ballina)
Frances has worked with Mayo Volunteer Centre since 2017 and as well as working on placements, deals with Garda Vetting and general office administration. Frances also volunteers within her community, and when she is not building a rapport with the local charities, she can be found participating in fundraising events like Killala Lip Sync and on the runway doing fashion shows!
Anthony Kennedy – Promotions Assistant (Ballina)
Anthony joined Mayo Volunteer Centre in August 2019 on a work placement. His interests include anything technical – he has a keen eye for photography and is pursuing this further by returning to education to complete a Masters in Photography.
Anthony is responsible for photographing events, assisting with social media and promoting and marketing Mayo Volunteer Centre.
Leah Cawley – Placement Officer (Castlebar)
Leah is the Placement Officer for the Castlebar office. Leah has a background in working for community projects and has worked for, among other organisations, the Irish Haemophilia Society. She is available from Monday – Friday between 9.30am and 5pm.
